QSC 3.0 – 2015 – Week 3 Challenge
OK, I am late with this post, I actually logged in to post about Week 4 Webinar, and saw that this week 3 post was only half finished, and not published. In my defense… I did have a day in hospital, and a day recovering, on top of a big catch-up for lost time at work, but all is good now.
I might also add, that even though I didn’t get this post published, I did get the challenge completed, and did more of our traffic generating, continuing on from the previous week.
The webinar was equally as good as the previous two, and for me a bit more taking home of new info. So that was great! We also managed to not have Dean’s audio dropping out, just for an added bonus.
The main topic was email list building, and this week’s challenge was to:
1. Select and sign up an account with one of the popular Auto-Responder companies. Dean recommended we choose either Aweber or Get-Response, but choosing either of these was not mandatory.
2. Find and/or prepare something “of value” to give away for subscribers.
3. Set up an Optin Form on our blogs. The preference was for this to be positioned in the sidebar, near the top, on the blog. We were given the option of using an optin pop-up on the blog.
I completed the tasks, although I already had a Get-Response account, and an email series suitable for the topic of my blog. I did create a new optin form and got it installed in the sidebar, as I’m sure you’ve already seen, and I did update the emails and add a couple extra, in the existing email series.
This email series are actually the give away as well, as some of the first emails are a mini eCourse.
I have, however got second thoughts about this choice, and am planning to add a initial give away, to hopefully encourage even more subscribers.
We were also given the option of making a squeeze page as well. I also already had this, so decided to update it and am quite happy with the new result. You can check it out here: http://petebentzen.com/
That’s it for this post, week 4 post will be published very soon.
Pete.

August 6, 2015Hi Pete,
Excellent job on getting week #3 challenges completed. Also your squeeze page looks great. It appears you have the know how and a good handle on the technical aspects of IM! Now it’s about doing the work, consistently, which seems you are well on your way.
To Your Success,
Art
