My Number ONE Online Mistake!
As has been mentioned elsewhere on this blog, I have been trying to build an income from the internet for a number of years, without getting anywhere.
Sure… I’ve made a few sales, and I had a regular income on a very small scale from a Traffic Exchange site I owned in the past.
This was never very profitable, but it earned enough from upgraded members and advertising credit package sales to pay it’s own way as far as domain name and hosting costs, and even had extra money, which covered advertising the site on other exchanges, etc.
One big mistake I made, was that I didn’t realize at the time, that the members in this exchange were in actual fact my first email list, and I never did anything with it. In hindsight, I could have been building a relationship with these people, offering them other products, and marketing to them.
This was a perfect opportunity for me, and I didn’t do anything at all to cultivate it.
Everyone who is making money online is using their websites, their products, and all they do online to build their subscribers lists, and to build relationships with the people, so they can market to and help these people.
I won’t make that mistake again!
If you are interested in making money online, and don’t have responsive email lists, you should be making this your absolute highest priority!
Some tips I have picked up, and am putting into practice (Now, Finally) are:
- Sign up to a well known, reliable email management (Auto-Responder) service
- Place optin forms everywhere I can, at least on every blog and in every sales funnel I set up.
- Make sure I am giving ‘building my list of subscribers’ my highest priority
- Make sure that the emails I send to subscribers are related to their interests
- Make sure I let them know who I am, and that I am real
- Build trust with these people, by giving them lots of value, and being helpful to their needs
- Segregate my lists, such that the right messages are being sent to the right people
- This means each new product or new niche, on a new list
- Make sure that every product or service I recommend to them is of high value, and appropriate to the niche
The above tips, are not a one off thing we do, they must be on-going as a continuous process!
Is ‘List Building’ your highest priority of everything you do online?
