Why Info Products Are Great for Brand Building!
Brand Building is one of the very first things you need to start on, when you are establishing yourself and your business online.
Most of us will start out using our own names, I strongly recommend this, as it makes it easier to build a name and your authority in your niche, which is really what Branding is all about.
Once you become a product or service provider, it is important to consider how you can stand out from the crowd. One of the best ways to do this is to create info products in order to be brand building successfully.
Branding Made Easy
With brand building, you can brand either your company name (if you have one), or your own name – like Oprah or Emeril. This will depend on how happy you are being in the public spotlight, and how much of an expert you wish to be in your field.
The important thing is that you present a consistent impression of quality and professionalism across everything that you do. This includes your website and anything you may sell at it, including all your info products, in any format and on any platform that you use.
So, what are “Info Products”
Info products are great for Brand Building, as they are one of the most popular items selling online. Millions of people are going to the internet to get information on whatever they are looking for:
- Info on something they want to buy Info on a topic they are curious about Info on how to do something
- Online education is booming, both formal and informal.
People are always interested in learning more about things that can improve their lives and solve their main problems. If you can offer the
types of solutions that people in your niche or industry really need, then you should have no trouble finding and keeping clients for your business.
- What Kind of Info Products should You sell?
- What kind of Info Products should you provide Free?
There is no one answer to these questions. You will have different reasons or goals,
There are a number of Info Products that are great for Branding, and you should consider all of these in your plans:
1. Blog Posts
For Branding, the most common format or platform these days, is to put out info products via your Blog.
Many will argue that this is information, but as it’s free, it’s not really a product. I disagree!
I believe that if you create helpful information, in any format, or for any purpose, it’s a product, just like the informative eBook or Report that you give away to get subscribers, it is a product.
Once you have a blog post on a particular topic, that is specific to the needs of your audience, you should always be using the content to re-purpose for wider distribution.
What better way to use Info Products for Brand Building?
This topic is covered in much more detail in Blogging for Profits, an info product I created late last year.
2. eBooks
One of the easiest types of info product to create and supply or sell is an eBook. You can create one in Microsoft Word, add some images, and then export it to a PDF file for direct download, or you can upload it to the Amazon Kindle program.
Amazon will convert the book for free and then make it available to their customers once you decide to publish the book, and of course you get your part of each sale.
Next, you will need an attractive cover because people really do judge a book by it’s cover.
If you’re not into, or ready to write an eBook yourself, you can connect with excellent writers at Fiverr.com and get your book written, with or without a professional-looking cover, at a very affordable price.
Finally, you’ll need marketing material for your book. Write your back of the book copy, or marketing blurb, in a way that speaks to your target audience. Use keywords and phrases and mention some of the key things they will learn if they buy the book.
If you are selling the eBook yourself rather than through Kindle, you will need the webpages and some banners.
Another very common use of short eBooks, is as a give-away gift to get people to subscribe to your email list. If you are thinking that writing a book to give away free is a lot work, then think about the “Big Picture” such as how much value you can get from subscribers in the longer term, if you email them with your offers on a regular basis.
2. Paperback Books
Once you have set up a digital copy online, Amazon allows you to create a paperback version through their CreateSpace.com print on demand publishing unit. You would use the same Word document, with page numbers added, and what is termed a cover flat.
The flat is the front cover, spine, and back cover of the book laid out one after the other, with the spine the correct size of the thickness of the paperback book. You can easily find someone on Fiverr.com who is able to do this according to your specifications.
3. e-Courses
Sites like Udemy.com pair up those who have a topic to teach with those who wish to learn. You can make good money and raise your Authority in your niche.
Another very popular form of eCourse is a short series of emails that you load into your AutoResponder to be sent out daily or weekly. This is a very common bait to get email subscribers, who are specifically interested in your niche. This process also builds K.L.T. (Know, Like and Trust) with your subscribers.
If you write the eCourse lessons yourself, and include some personal information, and tips that might not be included by others, your K.L.T. and your Niche Authority can be built even quicker.
You are also able to include links to resources that the reader will need in your lessons.
These resources can be helpful Free resources, but better still, paid resources, so you can start to segregate your buyers from your freebie lists, as soon as possible.
4. Multimedia Courses
Some content sellers like to create multimedia courses with an eBook, audio, video, handouts and more. It does take time, but it also adds to your prestige and these products will command a much higher price tag than a simple eBook.
This is the “Top of the Line” Info Product to produce, and what you should aim to create. For Brand Building, these Info Products do a fantastic job for you.
5. Templates and Other Information Packs
Templates, cheat sheets, Check Lists, spreadsheets with formulas and more can all help your target audience work better, faster and smarter. By providing these, you will definitely build your brand.
Branding
When creating any info product in any format, be sure to put your logo and URL in it. Try to make everything look consistent in terms of colors, fonts and styles. In this way, you will soon create an entire product line that represents your brand.
If you are not already offering information products in conjunction with your business, begin brainstorming what your audience really needs and start planning your first product, today.
